A techno-linguistic bridge for Africa?

The production of online content appears to be denser in the Anglophone African sphere.

The differences in access for Francophone users to tools for online production - blogging tools, access to social sharing platforms, open source and free software, diverse protocols, development tools, programming tools, content development communities - is sizable.

This blog's goal is to foster discussion that would in the long term reduce this barrier or wall which cleaves the Francophone African internet from the Anglophone one. A glance at the Anglophone blogospheres of Kenya and South Africa for example highlights the enormous gap of the one vis-à-vis the other.

To quote a recent post by Ivoirian blogger Théophile Kouamouo: "a sort of 'linguistic Berlin Wall' separates Francophones and Anglophones in particular, who seem to live in parallel universes."

The idea of this initiative starts with an observation. We do not have ready-made solutions to reduce the franco-techno gap or "African technological trap". Maybe you'll help us?
